About This Site

The word "photography" comes from two Greek words: φωτός (phōtos), genitive of φῶς (phōs), "light" , combined with γραφή (graphé), or "write", - which give you "writing with light".  For a portfolio and blog, however, I felt that "reading the light" would be more appropriate and, although I don't have anything against Greek, I decided on Latin - "Lectio Lux" - to serve as the catchphrase for this site.

I invite you to "read the light" with me as I share the images the light has written through the lenses of my cameras.  And I also invite you to a little "light reading" as I share some thoughts about photography and the world at large.
