Revisiting the old house on a hill at the intersection of Hwy 370 and 9 in Union County, this time with a medium format camera. Image captured using a Pentax 645A camera with a 45mm f/2.8 lens on Ilford HP5 Plus 400 film. There's just something about abandoned old houses and barns that begs to be captured on film.
Apple and tomatoes in a wooden bowl - captured using a Calumet 4x5 view camera with a Kodak Ektar 127mm f/4.7 lens on Fomapan 100 4x5 sheet film, developed in SP-76EC. I guessed at the exposure (I need a light meter) and shot this at f/4.7 for half a second.
My mother-in-law, Lucy Bourland Scott's house in Amory, Mississippi - photographed on April 6, 2017 with a Pentax 645A medium format camera with a Pentax 45mm f/2.8 lens on Fuji Neopan 100 Acros 120 film - self-developed
Casey Jones museum in West, Mississippi. This building originally housed the museum in Vaughan, Mississippi, an abandoned town that I've photographed several times. The wreck that inspired The Ballad of Casey Jones occurred about a mile north of Vaughan on April 30, 1900. The building was moved to West in 2008.
I captured this image on 120 Fuji Acros 100 roll film using a Pentax 645A camera and Pentax 75mm f/2.8 lens and self-developed with Ilsofol-3
Experimenting with large format, I took this photo with a 4x5 Toyo Field 45Aii camera equipped with a Fujinon 150mm f/5.6 large format lens. I set the aperture at f/32 and did a two minute exposure. While I was making the exposure, Semmie brought Icee up out of the paddock and so you can see the "ghost" of the stall door open (about a minute and a half) and then shut (the last twenty seconds). Shot on Kodak Ektar 100 and self-developed.
Town Creek in Monroe County, Mississippi, looking downstream from opposite Peacely Ferry Road. Captured on Fujifilm Pro 400H roll film using a Pentax 645A medium format camera and Pentax 45mm f/2.8 lens.
Abandoned house on Bigbee Road. Captured on Fujifilm Pro 400H roll film using a Pentax 645A medium format camera and 45mm f/2.8 lens
I'm not sure what you'd call this - too small to be called a thorn. Maybe call it a barb or a sticker. Whatever it is, I pulled it out of my thumb this morning. It's smaller than a one point line - not much bigger than the dot of a 12 point letter "i". I took this with a Canon 6D camera and an EF 24-70mm f/4.0L IS USM lens shooting through a Carson 10X loupe.
Duck Hill station with a statue of Chief Duck along Highway 51 - Fuji XT-2 with a Fujinon XF 23mm f/2.0 R WR lens.
Used to be the County Line attracted any number of "beer stores" whenever one county was wet and another was dry. That was the case when the Town of Sherman, in Lee County, Mississippi, sold beer while Pontotoc and Union Counties were dry. That's changed with New Albany selling beer in Union County and so some stores "on the line" haven't survived. I remember dropping into this store fifteen years or so ago, but it's been closed for some time now. Photo taken on Bergger Pancro 400 roll film using a Pentax 645A medium format camera with a Pentax 45mm /2.8 SMC A lens.
Wooden deck bridge on County Road 1213 over Twenty-Mile Creek in north Lee County, Mississippi. Taking this with a cumbersome 4x5 large format camera, I was a little nervous when a truck came past me (only one vehicle the entire fifteen minutes I was there). Feeling the wooden deck flex as the truck passed by me was not a comfortable experience. Captured on Fujichrome Provia 100F slide film on a Toyo 45Aii 4x5 field camera with a Fujinon 150mm f/5.6 lens.
